I met Liz about 5pm in the Old Steine and we wandered along and bumped into Mickey Adams, shook his hand and thanked him for coming down. He got this from so many people and he was smiling away, something he probably hasn't been doing a lot with Leicester recently.
We then bumped in Gary Hart and Kerry Mayo and they said all the players have volunteered to come along.
Next we bumped into Rob Martin and fell for the old trick of hold this banner for a moment, we finally found him about 1 ½ hours later to return them.
We (Aelred and I) had the "official" Falmer banners and it felt great being part of something special. The march was led by a samba band, then it was the disabled seagulls followed by everyone else.
Very difficult to estimate numbers, probably 5,000. The march stretched for a long long way and that was why it was hard to tell, and after people went in all different directions.
We walked passed Kuipers, Chippy, saw Paul Camilin plus loads of the usual faces. Loads of kids about and many many people with shirts, home made banners plus The Argus double page spread.
As we walked to the Brighton Centre more and more people joined the march, and loads of cars beeped horns in support. It took about 25 minutes to complete the walk, stand around for about 10 minutes to hear DK than us for coming, then turned round and walked back (about 50% of the March went off up West Street or back to cars.
The rest of us went back to Madera Drive and then we went off to the pub for a well earned bit of refuelling.
All in all a very successful evening. We had a beer with John Baine and Roy Chutter in the Evening Star afterwards.
On our way up we bumped into the Reading West MP who was fully behind us getting a ground, and basically feels that it is the responsibility of the FA to redistribute money to grass roots of football, which includes clubs such as Brighton, Reading etc.
Next stop Nottingham Forest. Any idea how many tickets we have sold?

PS best song of the night
Falmer or we vote Tory (for some reason John Baine denied starting that one!!!)
