He told BBC Sussex: "I've got a lot of the family coming to watch. It's a big game for us - we need three points,
I know Withdean is different but it doesn't matter as long as there is grass on the pitch. The last two games I've played in have been a mud bath."
He added: "So Withdean will be brilliant, it's my home debut and a win will be the perfect start."
Midfielder Gary Dicker is a doubt with an ankle injury but defender Adam El Abd is still out.
