Well not sure what more I can add other than ****!
A pathetic crowd of 7,2**, Palace have 100 unsold tickets which is bad, but we must have had 200 or so unsold in the old away end! I know it's expensive, I know it was on TV but for **** sake, if we cant fill Withdean for Palace, ahhh still wound up from yesterday. We gifted the 3 points to Palace, I know the Referee and officials (including the clown 4th official) were dire, but when you give Freedman yards and yards of free space he will score.
For all 3 goals we started with the ball, and after the hard work we put in to score, gave away soft equalisers and the as for the winner, well we started with the ball, passed it direct to a Palace player, for some reason McGhee had not bought on Dodd as a sub to replace Hart so we have Carole at full back, we then backed off McAnuff, gave him time and space to pick his spot and then Blayney's pathetic attempt to stop the ball summed up our defensive display.
We need players playing in position, the experiment of full backs hasn't worked fora number of games.
Enough from me today as still wound up over the way we gifted our bitterest rivals 3 points, and lost a point.
I will still be going on Tuesday, but at this moment in time really not sure I can bothered, I don't mind the drive down, but its the 3 hours after the match getting back home late and up early!
Not sure how McGhee can keep saying we are nearly a winning team, we have won 2 games this season and I believe our league form is now 3 wins from the last 30 matches.
Our defence is poor, our midfield very week defensively and our forwards need several chances to score, although if Knight can hit form we can maybe pinch the odd result.
Blayney 3 - I expected Palace to score with every attack. If we have a keeper playing for England U18's give him a go
Reid - 3 poor defensively
Hart - 4 battled hard
Butters - 3 caught for pace and nobody took responsibility for marking Freedman
El-Abd - 7 gave his all and made several great last ditch clearances
Carole - 5 was AWOL for long periods of the game
Frutos - 7 great first half, got back to cover well as well
Oatway - 5 game passed him by, but did keep running and trying
Hammond - 5 marked out the match, wasn't able to get forward
Knight - 7 great goal, lucky penalty, lets hope he can keep the goals flowing
Robinson - 2 I will be controversial and say he needs to be on the bench or dropped, he looks scared of defenders, his finishing is woeful, and I am sick of people saying wells he young blah blah blah, at the moment he is not up to Championship football. He bottled the high ball into the keeper just before Palace equalised.
CKR - 5 ran his socks of and linked up nicely with Knight.
We have Dodd sitting on the bench and Mayo out the squad, why? ...we need experienced full backs?
I would even advocate getting McCammon back in up front to try and worry defenders. Some people are saying we are too good to go down, best team we have had for years etc etc don't make me laugh....................
