For Head to Head between any two clubs click hereAlbion went into that game, on Wednesday 30th April, needing just one point to be the only club to promoted from our division into Division 2.
We had won 1-0 at Watford on the previous Saturday, and then lost at Brentford on the Monday. This meant that we were in 3rd place on goal average behind both Plymouth & Brentford, with those clubs having already finished their seasons.
A new record league attendance of 31,038 packed into the Goldstone to see 20 year old local lad Adrian Thorne put the Albion in a commanding position inside 10 minutes, scoring three in the 5th, 8th & 9th minutes.
Thorne eventually scored 5 goals that night, captain Glen Wilson scoring the other from the penalty spot.
