Brighton beat MK Dons to extend unbeaten run to 16 league matchesBrighton extended their unbeaten start to the league season to 16 matches in a 2-1 win over struggling MK Dons.Chris Hughton's men remain the only team in England's top five divisions yet to taste defeat in a league match this term after first-half strikes from Solly March and Jamie Murphy put the Sky Bet Championship high-flyers in control.It was a third away defeat on the spin for MK Dons, who hit back midway through the first half with a Nicky Maynard thunderbolt but failed to muster a second-half fightback.After ceding top spot in the Championship following a stalemate with Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday, Brighton started with purpose and were ahead after less than five minutes.The visitors failed to clear a Murphy corner that defender Lewis Dunk had connected with, and March, with time and space on the edge of the box, rifled a left-footed rocket into the top-right corner of David Martin's net.Tomer Hemed went agonisingly close to increasing the home side's advantage nine minutes later, when Beram Kayal slung in a cross from the left and Hemed's glancing header whistled narrowly over the crossbar.The Seagulls maintained their relentless tempo, however, and by the 19th minute they were two goals to the good after punishing more awful MK Dons defending.Murphy, replacing Inigo Calderon in the Brighton line-up, connected with Sam Baldock's pass and slotted neatly into the net from 10 yards as four of the visitors' defence watched on.Karl Robinson's team responded well, however, and hit back with their first attack of the game four minutes later to make it 2-1 after 23 minutes.Former Cardiff frontman Maynard picked up possession just shy of 30 yards and shifted into space away from Seagulls defender Dunk, before catching out keeper David Stockdale by firing a beauty with his right foot into the bottom corner.Striker Hemed had three further chances to put the home side out of sight before the breakAfter good work from the influential March on the right, he failed to find the net from five yards with an empty goal at his mercy.Then, two minutes before half-time, the former Mallorca man blasted against the upright from close range and should have hit the target with an unchallenged header after Dale Stephens' cross.The second half followed a similar pattern with the hosts dominating and Robinson's men unable to get to grips with their opponent's fast-paced style.The Seagulls, who have been dominant at The Amex this season with six wins from their eight matches, went close to adding a third when substitute Bobby Zamora had a shot parried away by Martin.And Liam Rosenior came to Brighton's rescue to block Maynard's late goal-bound strike as Hughton's side held on for a record-breaking victory
